NXG's in-house ability to repair and maintain tools and equipment puts our clients in control.
Manufacture and Repair Services
At our API accredited machine shop, NXG can offer its client base a wide range of services:
- Examples of drilling tools regularly manufactured are: Bit Subs, Crossover Subs, Float Subs, Saver Subs, Pup Joints
- We carry an extensive stock of raw material including solid and bored bar from 4-3/4” – 9-1/2” OD in both Non-Mag and 4145 H-mod steel
- All service work undertaken including API connection repairs on fishing, intervention and BHA
- All our operators are trained and assessed to industry standard practices including API, NS & DS criteria
- NXG are currently in the process of being approved as a premium connection licensee
Hard Facing
NXG have a dedicated team of operators, offering high quality hard facing services. Examples of these applications are detailed below:
- Industry standard hard facing applications undertaken on all stabilization (steel & non-mag) equipment, reamers and hole openers
- HF1000 – Crushed carbide within a brass matrix
- HF2000 – Crushed Carbide & trapezoidal inserts within a brass matrix
- HF3000 – Tungsten carbide inserts within a nickel powder matrix
- HF4000 – Button inserts
- HF5000 – Tungsten carbide rope
- HF6000 - Diamond impregnated inserts within a tungsten carbide rope/nickel powder matrix
- NXG-HF001 (NXG proprietary application) – Trapezoidal inserts within a tungsten carbide rope matrix
- Other relevant processes
- Size conversions of all stabilization and hole openers to suit customer requirements
- Stabilizer grinding services from 2-7/8” – 36” OD
- Repair and replacement of hole opener saddles and pilot blades
NXG - HF001 Hardfacing
NXG’s proprietary HF001 hardfacing has an industry leading reputation and is used in the most abrasive formations such as those found in geothermal and HPHT drilling.
Operators and service companies appreciate that HF001 reduces repair costs and DBR charges usually found when drilling these most challenging formations.
Drilling time can be maximized as tools stay on gauge and costly trips to replace under gauge drill string components are eliminated.
